We needed to fuel up in Beaufort before getting in line to go under the Lady's Island Swing Bridge and head north on the 12:00 opening. By the time we are ready, there are three boats in front of us;
Delphinea, another sailboat and a power boat. After two days of rain, it was a beautiful day to be cruising. The sky was bright blue dotted by big puffy clouds cumulous clouds. The air was cool and dry. We were following
Delphinea to an anchorage at Steamboat Creek. The day slid by in sections of shallow water with some pockets that were very deep! Our lives are full of constant planning for tides, currents, shallows and bridge openings. Avoiding running aground is exhausting!

We decided to leave our dinghy inflated and tied to the bow of the boat. Debbie asked us to come to dinner tonight. We'll need the dinghy to go between our two boats. It rests well on the deck but is somewhat in the way during anchoring. Before we leave this creek we will deflate it and stow it away again.

Good morning Steamboat Creek |
Delphinea is a Liberty 45, a gorgeous boat and Steve and Debbie's home. We spent a wonderful evening with them, chatting about family and the places we've traveled. They have been all over the world with
Delphinea. We will depart from this beautiful cove alone tomorrow.
Delphinea will spend another night at this lovely anchorage while we head for Charleston. We plan to reconnect with them at Osprey Marina in Myrtle Beach in a week or so. It's been great having Steve and Debbie to keep us company, compare notes with and learn from. We've enjoyed buddy boating together and would travel with them again if the opportunity arose. We're going to miss them!
