One of the things we had hoped to do along our Great Loop Adventure is attend local festivals. We had very little luck with this due to our timing. Here in St. Augustine, however, we've been very lucky! This weekend we attended the 24th Annual Rhythm & Ribs Festival. It featured BBQ, BEER, music, BEER, a mechanical bull, BEER, an array of vendors, and BEER! Dave and I do not eat red meat. You can imagine what we were there for; the rhythm & BEER!
The festival was held at Francis Field. Free shuttles were offered from all over St. Augustine but we walked there from our boat. We went on Sunday, which is Family Day! The entrance fee was only $5.00 per person. We arrived early to a small crowd which grew steadily throughout the day.
We listened to the West King Street Band, an awesome local blue grass group. Making our way around the festival grounds we watched people enjoying the BBQ kiosks. There were some cool vendors as well. This is a family friendly event. We had a great time!
