We returned to Minnesota on a summer break from our Great Loop adventure on July 1st. It has been wonderful reconnecting with friends. Summer in Minnesota is fabulous! July weather was about as perfect as we could ask for. Leaving Mystic, our Alberg 35, in St. Augustine for hurricane season was the right decision even though it is not easy having her so far away.

In August, we headed east to Boston for a trade show. Once we got settled at our hotel in the Seaport District, we set off to explore the city. The Forte Festival was winding down right outside of our hotel so we walked through the festivities. We wandered our way to Fanueil Hall and Quincy Market where we grabbed a hot buttered lobster roll and listened to street musicians. On our way back we stopped at the Trillium Beer Garden for an IPA.

There is so much history and culture in Boston. We are excited to experience as much of the city as we can fit in. Our week was filled with Dave working and me wandering around, trying to hit every landmark I could. When Dave has time, I lead him to my favorite spots and share my experiences with him. We walked through Chinatown and made our way to the finish line of the Boston Marathon in Copley Square. We found our hometown favorites in the winner circle mosaic. Copley Square has one of the largest farmer's markets we have ever seen. The lines to check out had at least 25 people, each with a bounty of beautifully colored selections. We walked back toward the Public Gardens at Boston Common and meandered through the beautiful grounds that led us to Cheers, the bar that was featured in the 80's sitcom.

We were in Boston during the total eclipse, which is really just a partial eclipse for us, under a sky filled with clouds. While many people stood outside looking up in anticipation, we sat at the Harpoon Brewery enjoying an IPA. It was over before we drained our glasses. We took an early evening walk along the Harborwalk which led us to the North End where the flavor is Italian. Paul Revere's home is here, along with gorgeous historic churches. The Freedom Trail guided us back to the Seaport district.
